This update adds a big new feature: the possibility to respawn after death. Since the game is not only a survival, but a sandbox, this was frustrating to start a new game after each death. There also some small UI enhancement of the craft menu and other things to make the game more user-friendly.

New features

  • Respawn option in Game Mode: You can now setup the respawn policy in Game Modes, there is some options to choose where to respawn, what to do with item stuff at death, and the respawn time.
  • /respawn command: New respawn command (synonym: revive), to respawn dead players. The first argument is the player(s) to respawn, @all works, the second argument is optional and is the position where the player will respawn, default is @cursor.
  • Modifiable shadow size in Sprite Sheets: By default, shadows are automatically created and have the width of the sprite image, a new attribute "shadow resizing" has been added to being able to shrink or enlarge it with negative and positive values, in pixel.

Enhancements

  • Slight ergonomic changes in the editor: Ammunition of item's ability has now a title group instead of a label. Fixed some labels that didn't become red when the associated value is wrong.
  • Sorted drawing optimization: entities are drawn per chunk so the horizontal sorting become smaller.
  • Chat when dead: Dead players can now write to the chat and run commands.
  • End game condition list in Game Modes can be empty: For endless game modes.
  • /list player display death state: The /list player now display "(dead)" after the player's name when he's dead.
  • Deconstructing a structure now play the scrunch sound.
  • A "right click" icon now appear close to the cursor when interaction with a structure is possible.
  • Armor values are now displayed as % in-game.
  • Sub-stats display: When hovering one of the 3 base stats in-game, a small popup display the sub-stats of this stat.
  • The exit button in the in-game pause menu now push back to the main menu instead of closing the game.
  • Crafting menu ergonomics: Added padding between crafts. Newly possible crafts now have a short lightning effect. 

Vanilla content pack changes

  • Survival mode split into twoThe main game mode "cooperative/solo survival" has been renamed into "hardcore cooperative/solo survival". And a new game mode "cooperative/solo survival" has been created, similar to the hardcore one but is endless and you can respawn, also pig and zombie waves starts at the second day.
  • Bosses shadow sizes: The shadow size of ice dragon, fire dragon and necrodamon has been reduced thanks to the new "shadow resizing" attribute.
  • Ice and fire dragon max aggro distance: Ice and fire dragons have now a new change condition in their behavior to stop attacking players when there at a distance > 60.
  • Few fixes in the english translation:
    item.barbaric_axe.baseAbility.description, item.fire_sword.specialAbility.description, item.dynarcanite.description
  • Reduced strength in equipment items:
    • Iron armor: from 12 to 8
    • Barbaric clothing: from 6 to 4
    • Paladin armor: from 6 to 4

Bug fix

  • Fixed a bug in multiplayer game that doesn't update player's position in client side after a teleport command.
  • Fixed a bug that crashes the game when trying to save a solo game while being dead.
